June 17. Roncesvalles to Larrosoana. 27.4km. The 6am wake up bell sounded throughout the albergue setting off a stir of 70 pilgrims. Time to get up, pack up, and file out of the building by 8. After hiking 3km we stopped at a market to buy our breakfast and trail lunch for the day. Yesterday was an uphill day where today was more of a downhill day with a couple of hills built in just for amusement. Our destination today is the town of Larrosoana, 24.9km down the camino. We passed by beautiful rivers, valleys, and farmland. It felt great to be hiking in such a delightful area of Spain. At 4pm we arrived in Larrosoana to find that the albergue had only one bed left as we stood in line. Thankfully, we found an inexpensive hotel (pension) situated across the street from the market. Supper tonight was pasta and tomato suace made in the microwave, some bread and cheese, and of course some spanish wine. Buen Camino.
